Welcome to our website.
This project was established to make information about the wildlife of the Outer Hebrides accesible to everyone and encourage residents and visitors to take part in biological recording activities.
This site is a one-stop shop for information on how to take part in biological recording and how to submit your records.
Our main activity is collecting records and maintaining a database of information on the flora and fauna; we also offer support and encouragement to to our recorders and work to promote an interest in the biodiversity and our natural heritage.
All the records we receive are important, particularly as we know very little about the distribution and populations of many of our island species. Members of the project team are active biological recorders and involved in national and locally organised surveys.
Visit our Surveys Section to discover how you can take part. You can also see our keep up-to-date with the latest reports of species added to the Outer Hebrides list.
